This course is intended for anyone with the responsibility for the design or revision of competency frameworks.

Objectives

• To enable delegates to develop an understanding of the nature of competency frameworks
• To enable delegates to effectively apply a range of techniques for job and competency analysis
• To develop skills in writing competency definitions

• Review of various approaches to constructing competency models
• Identifying key stakeholders in a competency design project
• Delegates gain skills in competency analysis and definition using: task & role analysis, Repertory grids, Critical Incident Analysis, semi-structured interviews
• Case studies of competency design projects
• Opportunity to produce a competency model for a particular role or roles within the delegate’s own organisation.
